Flow-Rite remote drain - 05/23/18 04:22 PM

I'm bilge diving today and would like to install a remote drain while it's easily accessible. Does anyone know of a place in Collin or Denton Co. that would have it in stock? West Marine does not. TIA

Just make sure you put a light coat of grease around the rubber seal, will make it last forever.

Not familiar with these. What do they do?

I found its best to open it to drain and re close it while wet.... then it seals really well.

A few times after I first installed it I would close it dry it would seep. When I would see my bilge run, I would go back and open it and re close and the bilge would never run again.

It is a remote drain plug. Good for those boats that you really have to get down on your knees to access the drain plug. It has a cable that is attached and a rotating switch that you mount somewhere in your splashwell so you can plug it or unplug it while standing at the transom. Works a lot like the livewells in most boats today.

Extremely useful if you launch your boat then realize you forgot to put the plug in. Just walk to the back deck and turn the switch.

Had one on my last boat for over 5yrs and have another sitting on the shelf for the new boat
wipe it off and reapply grease to the o-ring every yr never had any issues
