From what I am reading its only on a Verado edition, Pro XS specifically mentions sportier exhaust sound. Verado mentions advanced sound control.

I read the same thing, not changeable on the Pro XS model.

Its on the Verado and the racing versions, 250R and 300R.

So now we have sound control? That's just flippin' perfect. Goes to the point I make over and over on this forum. For many, catching fish is secondary to looking good trying.

Can someone explain to me how this makes boating safer? Oh hell, just explain to me how it make no difference at all and that it's not promoting unsafe behavior.

Kind of like the comment "you cant catch fish at 90mph", seems its only the people with the slower boats who say it.

Merc's are already loud enough, ever try and listen to what a tournament director is saying at takeoff when someone has a Merc sitting there idling between you and the PA system?

Harleys silenced... man wouldn't that be awesome. South Park made an episode about this very thing, hit the nail on the head. I believe the episode is called "The F Word".

300R is the only motor that I have seen Mercury discuss with this option.
