Cool Shirts for Summer Fishing?

Lot of new materials on the market today. What is the best shirt to stay as cool as possible while fishing in the Summer Sun? Long sleeve is preferred.

I prefer Columbia but I like short sleeve, and then wear a sun sleeve.

I've gone to Russell. Cheap and pretty much the same as the rest of them.
I have Columbia, HUK, Gander version and they all do a fine job, just don't see the point of spending the money for a "name" in the instance.

Fruit of the Loom and some sun screen works for me. Now, if you guys start bringing some good looking women with you to fish, I might start getting all dressed up too.

Those Columbia + Magellan fishing shirts just me sweat more can't stand em when it's hot.

Any fabric will make you sweat more especially if its dead calm and no wind. I prefer Columbia PFG long sleeve with the hood.

You can save lots of money and buy Hanes dri fit. They are super thin and I prefer them over some of my more name brand shirts.

At $8.99 a shirt they are very affordable.

Columbia works good. Long sleeves take some getting used to and are a little hot but sun protection is worth it. I can not make myself do the neck gator thing. I tried but just not comfortable so sticking with the 50 spf on neck, face, and any parts of my bald head not covered by my hat.

+1 on the Pelagic. They are the best I have worn. Simms is a close 2nd

I have a 30 year old Simm's Tarpon Wear that has seen many a days in the sun!

Most of what I wear now is Under Armour because they fit better being I am 6' 7" 240.

Also have some Columbia's but they love their static electricity!

I have a couple HUK's and like them for a pullover style but have never tried a Pelagic.

I have to try on the neck gators as some are made for little people!

I can not wear them pulled up over my nose though.

The long sleeve shirts I wear keep me cooler than going without them because of the evaporation cooling they offer.

I also wear Buff Gloves most of the time.

So far the most comfortable I've found is huk long sleeve with hood and salt life long sleeve with hood. Both are thin and the huk is vented

I think that is my problem, I ain't little people!

I tried Columbia and they were good. I was going to order some of the Hanes that someone else mentioned because of the price but I bought a HUK Kryptek hoodie shirt. I thought I'd use the hood but don't like it BUT it is hands down the coolest shirt that I have tried. Very thin material and has mesh in the right places to still protect you from the sun but allow a breeze to really get thru. I first shied away because of the price but the more that I thought about it, I only buy a couple for the year and just keep them washed so I figured that I could afford to spend a little more to be that much cooler. I'll buy 1 a year now until I have a decent supply. Mine made it thru last year and still looks and works like new.

People are always asking me aren't I hot in the long sleeves. It's amazing how many don't realize that they are cooler.

With a good hat with a neck/back cover and a neck/face gaither I can stay out in the full sun all day ...

Another vote for Columbia first and Magellan 2nd. Breathable sleeves keep them cool and they have nice pockets on them, too. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Megadeath t-shirt with the sleeves cut off is pretty cool. Maybe Def Leppard. Its not as cool, but still pretty cool.
