I went there last Saturday and I probably won't go back for a while. I only went there because I figured most other lakes were going to be very busy. As usual, the water is muddy brown. I caught more crappie than I did bass, and I wasn't using crappie jigs! A couple of years ago I loved to bass fish at Aquilla, but not so much any more.

10/4 will precede with caution. Can’t be any worse than the north end of Palestine.

From the bridge at FM 1947 on the east arm all the way around to the island on the west arm(main lake) you are good. Common sense: wide on points and timber up in some coves. Watch the shallow old road bed that parallels the 1947 bridge. It comes out shallow a looooong way. Underwater shallow hump mid lake right before reaching the west side island. Everything shows on graph if you have any mapping. Above the island or the bridge? Ya, bad as Palestine!

It never clears up. At best it's heavily stained
