Re: nothing like stupid people - 05/08/18 01:28 AM

I always look in the mirror when I stop at a light. looked and the guy behind me was stopped, looked back to the front and bam. f150 knocks the mirano into me. stuck that 250 right through that mirano grill. f150 was flat all the way to the front wheels. mirano was not hardly hurt except my skeg stuck through the radiator.

If your dealer can get you back on the water in 4 days after an accident like that, please share who they are...

I have faith in my dealer, we will see if they can do it. I have good insurance, so I will keep my fingers crossed. if they work a miracle trust me I will make sure everyone knows.

That's hard to do when your insurance company will get you in a rental car while you vehicle is in the shop, but none I know of will put you in a rental boat? What's wrong with this picture. What's wrong with it is not enough people have complained about it. We pay premiums on pleasure items just as we do for necessities.

Their insurance should be taking care of it if they are at fault!

Re: nothing like stupid people - 05/08/18 03:00 AM

Sorry to hear that! Ive heard u should always file a claim with your own insurance and go from there. Cant imagine waiting on someone else for info when they hit my boat.

Re: nothing like stupid people - 05/08/18 11:46 AM

Well when your on call 24/7 you fish whenever you think you might not get called out. Many times I have been on the lake for 15 minutes and have to pack up and leave. And I was prefishing for a club tourney this weekend.

Re: nothing like stupid people - 05/08/18 12:00 PM

Why is it going to be on your insurance?

Is there a friends boat you can borrow if dealer can't pull miracle out of his butt? I don't where your tourney is but your welcome to come get mine and use it. I'm near lake Ray Roberts and Texoma in Gunter.

Does your dealer have a loaner boat, or maybe a "Pro Staff" demo boat? Worth a shot, never hurts to ask

This is a real stand up thing to do HookEm. It's nice to still see people going out of their way to help someone that's in a bind. Have a great day sir. cheers

Cpt. Kilroy, I hope you get everything squared away and you get back on the water for your tourney one way or another.

Who rents out rigged bass boats for the insurance company to provide them?

Re: nothing like stupid people - 05/09/18 12:11 AM

thanks for all the well wishes and offers. My insurance rep is already on it. I dropped the boat at my dealer 1 minute after they opened. The service manager said he couldn't make any promises till they get everything out. But he said he would do what he could. so got my fingers crossed and glad I bought from a local independently owned dealer.

You have a good point, I don't know of anybody. That said, as many boats as I have seen wrecked I am thinking there is some potential here.

Its the insurance companies fault there are no Hertz Rent-A-Boats on every corner?

Re: nothing like stupid people - 05/09/18 01:23 PM

Even the rental car that the insurance pays for isn’t an equivalent for your auto. I had a vette and when they gave a rental car, it was a Ford escort. So even if they gave a rental boat you’d be looking at a jon boat.

He was hoping it would be like the good old days with Hertz renting Shelby GT350's. Maybe the rental boat would be an Allison with a 250. Lol.

That is the flexible long handled version to help make the long casts. Even comes with rings on the handle to keep it from sliding out of your hand.
