Re: 11.30 Monster - 04/01/18 02:53 AM

I was out there later in the day, Friday, didn't get there until 10:30 AM and another kayak angler told me he had heard about the 11+ pound LMB.

I "think" I caught my biggest bass in the same area, just a bit of vegetation, made a cast to it where I suspected a fish might want to hang out, and bang, she took it.

Mine was about 4 lbs. so not even close to your fish. But, I caught it on a 5'6" Medium power spinning rod with 10 lbs. braid and 8 lbs. leader, so it was an interesting tug-of-war.

With most assuming Purtis Creek to be a lost cause I would have kept that one to myself. Nice catch and net job.

I think most everyone here knows PC has some really giant bass . . . but "idle-only/ no wake policies," and a 50 bass boat limit keeps it pretty manageable.

I rarely go out there and don't pass another angler in a kayak or a boat, stop to visit briefly, and don't hear a story that they or someone else have caught a 6 or 8+ pounder.

So, I had just caught a 4 pounder around 4 PM as I recall when another kayak angler told me about the 11+ pounder caught in the same place earlier.

In the video, I see my white Toyota truck in the background.

A lot of bass anglers just really get down on lakes where they have eradicated most vegetation. PC has little of that though it is coming back. The bass are definitely in there.
