Flipping Tubes?

Flipping Tubes? - 03/27/18 09:29 PM

Been thinking about flipping a tube but I was reading about what hooks to use. I see people using the Trokar T190 and other use a skip gap hook. My question is if I'm using a solid head tube does it really matter? Shouldn't I be abe to use my normal flipping hook without issue?

If it's solid, make sure you get one like this:

There isn't a lot of room for that tube to squeeze down if it's solid.

You can use a straight shank hook but you're gonna have to really jack 'em on the hook set. Use a 2x strong extra wide gap hook.

Gamakatsu EWG Superline 4/0 for hollow body with a solid head. Sometimes I will use the Gamakatsu EWG Offset Worm 4/0 also. Never had a problem with either one.
