Had to work for 'em today

I fished Lake Athens from 4:45a to Noon today.....put 6 in the boat on only 6 bites.
Sighted tons of males cruising shallow...could get no action on them.
All bites we're produced by a C-Rigged Green Pumpkin Brush Hog fished slowly on the grass edges in 13'-18'....no biguns, but they all pulled good.
Still, better than not fishing.

I experienced the same issues with bed fish yesterday, but ran in to another dude who caught 70 bed fishing so...

Excellent report. Thanks for sharing all the details. Just need some warmer nights and less wind. That will put the big fish up there with the males.
