Little lake was awesome growing up. Caught my first DD from the shore in 1994.

Congrats to the angler.

Twin Buttes is my local lake and a fish this size doesn't surprise me at all. I know of a 11 and a few 9's taken last year and so far this year the fishing has been extraordinary. The few times I've been out since January I've hauled in close to two dozen between 5 and 7 pounds. Not bad for an old dried up mud hole.

Crazy how these west Texas lakes get a little water and they explode. Good to see

42' as of last week. About 9' lower then this time last year and the deepest part of the lake is 18' or so. Our paved ramp has been dry since last last spring. Out low water ramp is too shallow for anything larger then a jon boat. Now were launching off the shoreline just east of the ramps. A still have a few more feet before it really becomes challenging.

About two and a half years ago Twin Buttes was so low that they had to put pumps in to push water down stream to lake Nasworthy which is supposed to be a constant level lake. Nasworthy itself was so low that the ramps were unusable. Then a miracle of god happened and we got some serious rainfall and within weeks Buttes water level rose about 15'. All the rain that pretty much everyone east of us received a few weeks ago to fill all of your lakes never traveled west far enough to give us anything measurable. If this pattern continues we will be close to that same situation by years end.

Oh great. That 13 pounder made the local paper. Everybody and their cousin with a snoopy rod is going to invade our mudhole.

Lots of nice folks on here who mostly practice catch and release. Cant say the same for local bank beaters. Make the drive and I'll show you around.
