First bass boat and her makeover **Updated pics** - 02/16/18 03:29 AM

A few months ago, I purchased my first bass boat. 1982 Ranger 350V.....
I took on an overhaul project to get it where I am happy with it. I custom built a full casting deck, added new seats, recarpeted from the seats forward. Did some rewiring to lights and Threw on a wrap because the gel was shot. Motor runs strong and aside from hooking up electronics and a couple small things, its water ready!

Heres a few pics to see the WIP along the way.

BEFORE

AFTER

Thanks for looking!!

Quick update!

I worked on it through the nasty weather, determined to be able to go out on Sunday for a little while.
The final touches are done!
Trolling tray, electronics are hooked up and some mood lighting!

Designed it and wrapped it myself. I had the opportunity to print through my work as a test.

I fished out of one of those 300 series Rangers for a dozen years. Really good fishing platform especially for getting up in the bushes/brush. You did a good job. Just curious, did you use treated wood?

I treated and sealed with a primer after final frame and boards were installed before carpeting.

Very, very nice job, and its paid for. I applaud that. I am in the process now of making my old Cajun a bit nicer also. Had some trailer welding done last night. Good luck tearing them up in that boat and I love the wrap..and your comment on it!!!

Those old Rangers are pretty much bullet proof boats. The XR4 on the back will run until the sun burns out too, great job. They are great fishing platforms.

Re: First bass boat and her makeover - 02/16/18 03:38 PM

Looks great Evan. Those old Rangers are built like army tanks. I had a 1985 360V which is pretty much the same as your only a tiny bit wider.

Great looking makeover ! You will love that boat. My first "real bass boat" was the 350V. Loved that boat up to the day I sold it and then wasn't sure I did the right thing. That boat will get you there and back and in some big water. Great boat for lakes with lots of brush. Brings back good memories , Thanks !

Re: First bass boat and her makeover - 02/20/18 08:57 PM

You must be a smart guy to do that rather than spending big bucks and parking it in your garage 95 % of the time. I understand smart and respect it. If you do everything that way you will end up doing well. Life works better with money in you pocket. Put your money into things that produce income and you will always have money. Not putting anyone down because there are different strokes for different folks. Proud of you.

Can't say what he used but if you are looking, the lumber yard on Harry Hines, across from Parkland Hospital, has marine plywood. Craddock Lumber. 5422 Harry Hines Blvd.Dallas, TX 75235

Excellent job on the rework and wrap. I am also second!
