TCU Bass Club fundraising - 02/12/18 06:19 PM

Hey everyone!

I am a club officer with the TCU Bass Club. We are trying to fundraise and get our club jump started again after a break from tournament activity the last year or so. We were wanting to gauge interest in either a big bass tournament or regular fishing tournament held at Eagle Mtn Lake in late March with a $100 entry fee and 25% going towards the club and 75% payout for the tournament. Who all would be interested and what style tournament would y’all like to see?

We are also interested in any sponsorship opportunities if local business want to promote. We aren’t looking for handouts but would prefer to support local business over big names, if the products are of quality.

TCU as in the university?

Surely you meant TCC

Not TCC, TCU the university. The school doesn’t exactly fund “club sports” and not everyone that goes to TCU is loaded... I’m actually a vet that is going on the GI Bill and trying to get the club running. Not every major university even has a bass club and when they do, they are rarely funded by the school. Even with TCU raking in money off tuition, it doesn’t mean that the bass club will be funded in anyway or that we will have any more access than even TCC honestly. We are all people that enjoy the sport of bass fishing and want to get out and compete like everyone else.

was just poking a little fun.

First of all thank you for your service.
An eagle mountain tournament in April or early may would draw a big crowd, as KOC is having their qualifier late March.

I️ would also try to see how these other schools are getting school funding as TCU should be able to help out as well as texas tech helped us with fees and many other things when I was there

It’s all good. Just hear it a lot as you could imagine being the rich kid school that it is lol. I know in the past they have helped a little but since the club wasn’t active the last year or so they cut the funding and even then it was very little. I know some of the more established schools have alumni support as well as host a few tournaments. I was thinking late March to avoid conflicts with FLW and big bass splash in April then finals going into may. I totally forgot about KOC though, thanks for the heads up. We may have to push it back in may or run an early April tournament.

I gave a bunch of money to TCU when my daughter went to Nursing school there. They can't give you any support? When visiting campus, I saw the Golf club (or maybe that is an organized sport there) had a real fancy wrapped van they were tooling around in.

Thank You for your service to our county!
