Anyone have a fishing report for Meridian state park? I know they were part of the Operation World Record and shocked up a 19lber

I know they stocked some bass in their about 10 years ago or so but I have not heard of any 19 pounders being shocked up, if so I'm sure the line would be out to the front gate.

why do you say its part of operation world record bass? I might be wrong but I only know of 3 lakes and this is not one of them. also, have you ever shocked bass w/ tpwd and understand how it works? heard that story on about every lake in Texas. Kinda like all the sunken bull dozers and man eating catfish...

I always thought Merdian was one of the lakes and that it was five lakes. I’ll try to find a link

This article says six lakes. But doesn’t name them.

This article lists the six lakes.

The official OWR study lab consists of six public fishing lakes - Mill Creek, Pinkston, Meridian State Park Lake, Raven, Purtis Creek State Park Lake and Marine Creek. The study lakes were chosen based on a criteria of factors conducive to producing large fish.

What’s interesting is the lakes that got stocked with the offspring. Lake Nacogdoches and Lake Austin. Lots of small unpressured lakes on that list. I know you have fish one of them pretty regular

the reason they are small lakes is so it's easier to sample and monitor.
