im currently having problems palming my jerkbait reel (200e curado) for prolonged periods so my research has led me to think a 50e may be in my future. never touched a 50e so before i post a wtb add i’m wanting feedback from others in the know. am i going in the right direction on this and will the 50e be easier to palm with my tiny hands? and if not the 50e which reel do y’all suggest for my little problem?
thx in advance

I've never seen the 50E. I use the 200Es a lot though as they fit me well.
As for other reels that would be "smaller" (feels like to me) you could look at Lew's Speed Spools or BPS Pro Qualifiers.

Buddy has a 50, it is nice.
I use Lews Team Lites and would recommend you taking a look at those.

No doubt the 50e's are easier to palm. Much smaller

I thought all TFF'rs were 6'4 260
I thought all TFF'rs were 6'4 260
only after they leave the ramp
I feel your pain bud! Look at the Lew's Custom, pretty small profile compared to others.

Look into the curado 70 as well.
Look into the curado 70 as well.
Both the Shimano Chronarch 50E and Shimano Curado 50E are small and light. They will serve you well.My favorite is the Shimano Core 50Mg7.If you can find one someone is willing to part with.

Curado 70 might be a reel you should look into.

Re: tiny hands - 02/01/18 03:02 PM
go to bass pro or cabelas and try them out; both have all their reels out to touch and feel.
I'm 6'4" and 270, but SOTA is working me down to a more manageable 225.

The Abu Revo ALX is also a good smaller reel unless your dead set on a 50e.

Look at the Ardent Grand. I just got a few of them in and can't wait to use them next week. I also have small hands and have had the same issues as you.

That's funny guys , leaving the ramp and behind key board . I learned not to palmed the reel . But that's me .
Shimano Aldebaran are my smallest lightest.
try the shimano curado 70HG
This. Don't waste your time trying to find an overpriced 50E. They are good reels but the 70 is every bit as good.

Fished a jerk bait for many years with casting tackle, but for the last several years I've been mostly using spinning tackle. I think its a bit easier and maybe less awkward to hold the rod down and pop it than it is with casting tackle. At least it gives you a sort of a break after you have been doing it with a casting rod for several hours. With spinning I'm using 8#. If I want to use heavier I go to casting.
I have 2 50e's...they're great for jerking and square bills.

I'm 6'-5" and 260 but I have small hands. Those Lew's reels are nice.

Curado 50e reels and the Curado 70 series Shimano are both great reels and compact in size
If you switch brands might as well get a good one (daiwa).forwarded they don't cast like shimano's tho

Re: tiny hands - 02/05/18 01:53 PM
I have HUGE mitts and the 50 is still not too small for my hands. Not that a 200 is necessarily uncomfortable but the 50 is more comfortable. Certainly can get by with whatever but specific to jerkbaits a 200 is overkill anyway. Tiny hands? The 50 or 70 would be perfect.....for your hands and the size bait.

guy over in the sale section has a 50E if you still want one!
TFF
The E series has been out of production for years. I like my old 51E, but my 71HG is better in every aspect.

Daiwa Sol or Alphas are small finesse type reels also but they can be a little hard to find. I have a 50E and like it also.
Trump uses the 50e I hear...

i sell a lot of the 13 fishing reels because of the really low profile you would probably love them and lews also would be a good choice
