Lake Athens, yesterday, I caught one nice bass in the 4+ pound range . . . though my crappy flip phone camera does it no justice (see below). The rest of my bass looked like large sardines and I caught about 5 in the less than 1 pound range near the 2495 bridge.
I used a Reins Cross Swamp worm (the X-shaped worm) tossed on a wacky rig weightless and caught the one decent bass in 5' deep water in a field of dead lily pads, caught the small bass on a small weightless worm, also shallow.
No luck, not a nibble, when I gave a drop shot a go in deeper water.
I think they have moved deeper, at least on Athens.
