want to try an extremely pressured pond, I'll be getting there right as it gets dark but I have no idea on what baits to try

Finesse is the way to go in pressures ponds. Maybe a small topwater for that time of day.

Try a sluggo or a fluke

I’ve had success with a small torpedo, like you said. I’ve also had good luck with a Zara Puppy.

I think the key is to try baits that the fish probably haven’t seen and fish when they feel safer - low light or no light conditions.

Or you might try a small, black Jitterbug or dark-colored Sprinkler Frog.

I'd try a black 4" senko wacky rigged.

Spinning Rod with some light line..do a drop shot.

I like to have 15lb braid with 10lb mono leader. The leader I like is about 8-10ft so I have extra in case the hook breaks off. Then I will usually use a 1/0 drop shot style hook and will nose hook a 3" fluke, stick bait, lizard, etc....and then usually for the distance between the hook and weight, I like typically 2'. It does depends on the cover and bottom composition too. If there is a lot of grass, I like to have the hook a little further up. If there isn't much cover, keep it closer to the bottom.

In-line spinner or beetle spin will get you more bites than anything else hands down. For better bites though, I would agree with most of the above.

Small finesse worm or small creature/lizard with a split shot about 6-8” up from bait. thumb

Totally agree. It's hard to beat a weightless senko in a high pressured area. It always gets bites.

Tx rig weightless senko ( orange) coaxed a 21in fish today in drizzle during incoming front. Only bite, walked over and poked rod down, less than 2 ft! ABC fish too. Wish I had phone, largest one I ever caught out of there. Was throwing small clear heddon torpedo, with no interest prior to this single bite of the trip. I was killing time before some vintage Tom Savage!
