Jack Hammer

Jack Hammer - 11/17/17 11:42 PM

Recently I was in Bass Pro in Shreveport. I found a 'jack hammer' by David Hite. $19.99!!! I picked it up and compared to a regular Z man. I could not see the see the price difference. Sure there was a bait keeper that was nice and there is a better hook BUT $19.99 ! I know David Hite has won a bunch of money with this bait, Several times I have seen him show this bait as the 'go to' or what he has thrown all week long.
Any one have a review of this bait. OR an extra $19.99

It's actually Brett Hite. And yes I'm one of the 'fools' that own a bunch. cool You can get them cheaper than that. Most tackle shops have them for 14.99. Most people on here will reply and say they aren't worth it. To each his own. Its a confidence bait for me. Love the skirts and they are easier for me to skip than other brands I have tried.

I for one think it's totally worth the price. I know I'm probably in the minority here but I don't care. The Jack Hammer flat out catches fish. I used to feel the same way as you. I thought that the Custom and the Project Z was as good as it gets, but this thing totally out-fishes those other ones.

Yes Brett Hite . I did not have the courage to buy one as my wife was with me. I just could not pull the trigger on that bait. Colors were 'what I use" and I did like the skirts.

Good bait. Slightly better on a lot of little details. Better hook. Better angle on tie. They seem to get hung up less. Probably not worth the extra dollars but then what really is these days.

and this is why they work for me. I thought they were a joke but after a few tourney wins for me I am a believer. Caught a monster catfish on one and it did not destroy the bait. I was impressed with that. To high for some but they are good

In the summer I got into a school of bass and caught approx. 35 2-4lbers in 90 minutes- most fun fishing I have ever had in my life and the only time this has ever happened! All on a black and blue Jack Hammer. I went through an entire bag of Zoom Z Craw Jr trailers but the Jack Hammer looked perfect. My favorite thing is how quick it starts thumping. You can cast it, let it sink to the bottom and it will be chattering the entire way down. I was ready to dish out the hate on these things but I think they are great. I bought several more.

Got my butt kicked by a co angler with one on Toledo Bend this spring and it made a believer out of me.
I was throwing a white regular chatter bait with a keitech trailer and he was using a jackhammer with the same trailer casting at the same stuff I had just cast at and the fish were slamming the jackhammer and not even looking at the regular one.
There is a slight difference in the angle on the blade and I think that is what make the difference.
I have been using them since and when I catch fish in them I will pick up a regular one to see if they will eat it as well. Most of the time they will eat both but there are times when the jackhammer will work and the regular one not.
