New motors

Can you put a new 4 stroke motor on a boat that's had a 2 stroke and what all is involved ?

It maybe a dumb question I just don't know what all is involved as far as controls and what not

If it's the same brand, it should still use the same controls. There's a few oddballs out there, but if you're going from Yamaha to yamaha or merc to merc, you're good.
