Jack plate install for power poles

Jack plate install for power poles - 04/17/17 03:20 AM

Hey guys. I have a 2011 Nitro Z7 with a 150 Mercury Optimax. The boat didn't come with a jack plate and I am seriously considering getting some power poles. I don't want to mount them to the transom. Is there a good/reasonable place to get a jack plate installed so I can have power poles added? Thanks!!

Best one I found at a decent price. Excellent experience with install and setup, Steve know his stuff.

I've heard good things about Hydrodynamics but the tech at PowerPoles said they don't really allow for the side mount brackets to mount the power poles.

I would suggest making a phone call to Steve at Hydrodynamics see what he says or if he can accommodate the Power Pole Mounting before ruling them out.

if you want to buy the jack plate from me and have me instal it here at the shop.
i will side mount the pole brackets for you.

i just don't recommend it to the average person because the plate basically has to come apart
to get the brackets on.
i've also been looking at drilling into the boat side angles and side mount there with my adapter brackets.

it can be done!!

Don't they offer a sandwich plate like the talon so you can mount without a jackplate or are you just wanting to add a jackplate?

only problem with sandwich mounting without a jack plate is the
sandwich brackets are pretty short and can dig into the transom and cause
gel coat damage.
same with mounting like that with a jack plate. the sandwich brackets should
be mounted between the motor and jack plate.. jmho.
