Overheating 06Yahama 250 Hpdi - 09/19/16 02:11 PM

After idling for a few minutes, then trying to get on plane the overheat alarm will sound. If I put it in neutral and rev it to about 1500 rpm for a few seconds, that seems to cool it enough to get on plane. It looks to be about 8 psi on plane. I suspect some type of water pressure problem.
I replaced the impelled with no change in the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

I am working on that right now. Trying to get all of the parts. I am not sure if that rubber piece comes out of the cylinder block or not. Can anyone help me with that

Got her going. 12 psi at 3500 rpms. Thanks sssmith for your help. Maybe I will make this part of annual service or at a minimum every 2 yrs.

I would order the improved poppet assembly. You need to service your thermostats too.
