Where can one shop for used motors that don't cost an arm and a leg? I have looked on BBC and nothing is close or a reasonable price. I am looking for a 200HP

good used motors bring a premium now part of what is driving the cost is crappy fuel an the other reason is the price of a new one .

As far as where to shop for used motors there is this forum. BBC,CL, call shops that rebuild powerhead a also. Are you looking for MERC,EVINRUDE,JOHNSON,YAMAHA... I've found very few 200's. They DEFINATELY are in short supply & there's a lot more 150,175,225,&250's out there than 200's. Just what I've noticed in the last 2 years. Don't know if maybe it's because racers like em & buy them up quick or what the deal is on 200's. Ain't any of them cheap but the same on motorcycles,Utes,SUV's. ?????

I know about a Yamaha 200 with around 100 hrs on it with controls for $5200 but it's in Kentucky.

not sure about the EFI models but I believe the carbureted Merc 175s can be modded pretty easily to a 200 or close
