Help with cleaning jackplate area

Help with cleaning jackplate area - 06/22/16 07:33 PM

Hey guys, I'm in need of something that'll get the grime, gunk, and nasty stuff off of my jackplate. I have a manual Slidemaster jackplate. I think it's made of aircraft grade aluminum. I'd also like to clean the area around the jackplate, such as my Power Pole brackets and that part of the motor where it meets the jackplate; kinda like the front part of the motor. It needs to be something that won't take the finish off of the jackplate itself and the surrounding areas.

Thanks in advance!

Haven't tried that yet. Would that take the finish off of motor and surrounding areas?

It will if you use an aggressive nozzle.

Do you have any sort of idea about which nozzle to use? I have an electric power washer that comes with three different nozzles.

Use the one with the least pressure and don't get closer than about 6"

Academy sells this stuff called
"Hull cleaner". It really works.
Just spray on with a spray bottle and rinse off.
Unbelievable on fiberglass. Yellowish lake scum.

It really works!!
