Jackplate questions. - 03/02/16 03:02 PM

I just bought a 1996 Ranger 488vs Commanche with a 200 horse Mercury efi with a 25p prop. Would I get any benefit by adding a jack plate? Just not sure if it's worth it or not.

When I asked The same question. The answer was yes also recomended prop being blueprinted to hull. SCP recomended a 12" rapid jack (non hydrolic my choice) did prop also. The difference was amazing definately worth it for me. My boat gained alot it is Skeeter ZX180. Call Josh at SCP he will not stear ya wrong Rapid Jack Plates are made here in Texas also.

I personally will not go back to no plate and non blueprinted prop. Someone will chime in with SCP phone #. I recieved prop back and jack plate within 48 hrs really fast service did the installs myself.

They also do boat setup around lake fork if ya want an awsome pro to set you up worth every penny.

the 488vs will benefit from a 6" jack plate.. i would not put any more setback than that on it.
