2001 Triton Instrument Panel

2001 Triton Instrument Panel - 02/20/16 09:45 PM

I need to replace three of my panel gages. Looking underneath the console threre is bracing across the middle so I think it would be easier to remove the instrument panel. I'm just not sure what is involved with doing that. Has anyone ever had to remove theirs and how difficult of a task is that? Any help appreciated.

I have a 2001 Triton 186 TRX. I replaced the gas and trim gauge and added a voltmeter gauge where it had a blank. I did this some time ago. I took pics first and marked wires before replacing the gauge(s). I didn't remove the panel. I don't recall seeing a brace that would allow for it but I wasn't thinking that way. I just know it isn't roomy under there to get things done. Other than the dexterity challenge, it isn't difficult.

Yea years ago I put a temp gage in where the blank was also and didn't remove the panel and remember what a pita it was and having to be a contortionist to do it. I was just thinking and maybe over thinking it would be easier to remove the dash panel and with my aging back may save on a doctor bill. Oh well I'll crawl under there sometime this weekend between the stuff my wife and daughter's plans and wedding shower I'm getting drug off to, at least the future son in law's brother has a well stocked liquor cabinet and a big fan of single malt too maybe not too much of a beating. If I thought I could get away with it I would take the boat with me and have a guy's garage party! rolleyes That may not go over well.
