XPost Jon boats best 9.9 hp for vhull ?

had 1988 9.9 hp johnson & 9.9hp seems to work well or did but now its hard to start had 2 rebuilds & parts are not easy looking for electric start .Think leer propane or 4 stroke any thoughts?

If it has points they may just need to be adjusted.

I run a 2010 Mercury 9.9 four stroke. It runs very strong and quiet. Only issue I have had is a fuel leak at the accelerator pump due to poor fuel quality "eating" away at it.
