Motor Height - 07/28/15 06:11 PM

I recently purchased a new boat and it seems to me that the motor is too high. Am I wrong thinking that the cavitation plate is supposed to be even with the bottom of the boat?

I haven't had time to check it for proper height as yet. I have a great hole shot all the way to WOT but when I am just cruising at 3200 rpm's and then go to get on it, the prop begins to cavitate.

what prop are you running?

if it's stock it may need some cup.

The stock prop that came on the motor and evinrude 200 HP it doesn't have a name on it, I believe that it is a 24 pitch.
