Bullet Bass boats? How do they ride in rough water

Bullet Bass boats? How do they ride in rough water - 01/27/14 12:36 AM

Shopping for a new bass boat. I'm upgrading for my triton TR186. I really want a boat in the 20' class that can handle rough chop. Especially when you are in a boat lane and can't choose your line. Was looking at Bass Cats, skeeter, and Tritons. I had a buddy who mentions bullets to me. Anyone have any experience with these guys? I know they are fast but do they fish well and handle a 3' chop when you have to shoot an east Texas boat lane.

I had a few. I thought they handled rough water as well as most other boats I had, including Ranger. The key is the length and seat time in the boat. Bullet was one of the best overall boats I have owned and holds it's resale very well. I would recommend them to anyone that ask.

i've owned 2 20 ft'ers. took the rough water as good as any boat i've been in.

driven alot of 21'10's and they are incredible in the 3 n 4 ft'ers. been over 85mph in rough stuff.

seat time, set up and prop choice are crucial on a bullet. more so than most other boats.

check out the new 21XRS it's their new "tournament" boat. very nice layout and FAST!

good luck on your choice of a new boat.

I just bought a Bullet 20xd that I'm learning to drive and it takes both wind driven chop and boat wakes as good as the Skeeter 20i and Triton TR186 that I have been fishing out of the last year or so. The Skeeter has a much wider front deck which is more user friendly and less tippy but the Bullet is better build quality and is a lot more fun to drive.

the front deck space on the bullet's is what deter's alot of guys from buying them.

build construction, speed, etc has never been in question. as far as the ride. well..ya just
gotta get in one that has been setup correctly. smile

No complaints about the set up after talking to you. Boat runs 80 gps effortlessly but my driving is holding it back some. Only have about 2.5 to 3 hours seat time and it gets better each run. One thing for sure it's not a tunnel boat.

If you want a fast boat that rides good and fishes as good as any boat out there go with a Stroker! The only hang up is storage.

No kidding, I have been running tunnels since 1984 and have tried driving a couple of Allisons with little confidence. The Bullet seems more forgiving than an Allison and I'm making some headway but still am no there yet.
