Motor dies while idling

Motor dies while idling - 02/24/18 09:28 PM

In the last couple months I’ve had an intermittent problem with my motor dying shortly after starting. I can’t get it to restart immediately but after letting it sit a while it starts right up again and it wouldn’t happen again the rest of the day. But today it is starting to hAppen more. I think there is a fuel restriction somewhere. It’s a ‘97 Johnson fast strike

Does the fuel bulb stay full or is it getting soft?

Start by checking the compression, uneven pressure can cause fuel pump problems, vaccume, fuel loading up, rpm surging etc.

These motors have a quick start feature controlled by temperature. Your temp sensor may be failing. Use only QL78YC plugs.
