225 hp 2002 mercury efi over heating

I have changed the impeller and gasket and the poppet valve motor still heating up and not peeing on ear muffs didn’t miss tube took unit back off to ck and was in. Anybody else had this’s problem?

check thermostats also check brass tube make sure Rubber at power heads not messed up

Remove thermostats and they r working will check top of tube next

double check the impeller key is engaged and not damaged

How do you know its overheating?

Are you getting a warning buzzer and hot light, or are you just being cautious because its not peeing?

Is it possible the impeller got indexed wrong the first time it was installed? That can damage the keyway on the impeller.

The alarm started going off and went into limp mode steam was week compared to what it usually was. Weather has been so bad have not been able to work tomorrow is supposed to be better. Really appreciate the help.
