Bait casting reel under $100

Bait casting reel under $100 - 06/28/17 02:11 PM

I'm going to retire my old Abu baitcaster after 35 years of faithful service. She developed a wobble after one too many large bass.

Looking for a good replacement I can pick up at Bass Pro this weekend. I typically throw unweighted stick baits, spinner baits and a few larger top waters.

Revo S or for a little more the Revo SX also the Carbonlite's are not a bad reel.

Under $100 you might give Shimano Casitas a look.

I'd check ebay for another old Abu baitcaster. Sometimes you can get vintage reels in great condition for a low price.

If u want the reel to last another 35 years I'd only buy another Abu sweden made reel.

Send it to these guys for rebuild, they can upgrade to bearings and upgrade many other parts. They are very good and reasonable and have lots of parts!

So if I could get a pro qualifier or Carbonlite for 20 to 40 bucks lower than the Lewes is it a done deal?

For the old ABU,s I would stick with them since they have lots of parts and knowledge. They do have a line so I would still buy another reel to use for now and then you will also have old faithful when it is finished.

It's hard to beat the H2O Mettle from Academy, fishes good, great in store warranty and many times on sale as low as $59.

[censored] all those other reels. For under $100, you can't beat the H20 Xpress reels. I have 2 Curados, high dollar Lews reels, 2 13 Concept reels, and to be honest, those H20's are just as good.

You can take them back too. Life time warranty. If anything happens with it, take it back, exchange it no questions asked. Done it multiple times
