These rods worth keeping or have any value? - 01/02/17 11:57 PM
I have 2 Castaway Rods in new condition ones a 7' M Cranking Rod, and the other is a Salt water light in 7', Both are the SLX3 line. Are a light and medium rod really worth carrying around? Most guys I know just have MH or heavy for most fishing. Any trade/sale value in them?
What is a light Salt rod even good for, bait?

The 7' Light action is my go to rod for a jerkbaits. I have a Falcon Lowrider, that is no longer made that I would hate to lose.

Casting? Spinning? The cranking rod is a must for a lot of guys. I have a few 7' MLF (medium light power, fast action) casting and one 7' LF (light power, fast action) casting I use for saltwater topwaters and light jigs with soft plastic tails. I have a LMF (light power, moderate fast action) casting for saltwater topwaters and a LF spinning for saltwater soft plastic tails. All Stars (Houston made) and Falcons.

[censored] sorry yeah they are Casters. I know its probably a stupid question they were given to me a while back and I've been trying to figure out what to use them for, or if I'm better trading them off.
I know the crankin rods for crank baits it just seems almost too flexible, but maybe I'm just not used to the M action I guess.

It would do real well cranking smaller crank baits like bandit 200 size or squarebills . You can also use that type of rod for lipless crankbaits. Would give it lots of action.

I have a 7'1" med exfast that is one of my favorite light weight 1/8oz and below tx rig rod. I'd keep them.
