I was looking over Cabelas sales b/c I have some gift cards to use. Would this reel be good for a square bill crank bait reel? Would you guys recommend this reel? It looks like with the sale and 10% off it would run about $100 and free shipping.
Any opinions on it? Would you buy one at this price?

Doing some reading I think I can answer my own question. I don't think it is going to be fast enough.
What would this reel be best used for? I still might by it anyways.
It will work for squarebills just fine. Some people just prefer a little faster for squarebills but it would still work just fine. It would be best suited though for your deeper diving cranks where more torque is needed. Thats a good price too!

Bull is correct. I prefer low gear ratios. keeps me from fishing too fast.

X2 I use 5.1:1 Lews BB1 reels for all my cranking.
