Went to cabelas this morning and got the last one of the 300 version. Comes with the Mitchell 24ton 6'-6" rod. Spooled it with 30lb RipCord hi-vis yellow braid. Will give it a test tomorrow morning on the channel kitties. This thing sure is smooth with all those ball bearings. They still have some 308's and 310's. Also they have the 300 pro combos for $69.99.

Fished it for cats yesterday and the combo worked awesome. The only negative was the medium action rod seemed a bit soft for me. Being a graphite rod you could feel every wiggle on the smallest fish which made them feel bigger. I would prefer a medium heavy but the reel itself is about the smoothest I have ever used. Well worth the money regardless. Brought home 10 eaters to about 2-1/2 lb size.
This reel really worked well with the 30 lb RipCord braid. Also you can cast this thing a mile with just a flick of the wrist with only a 1/8 oz weight.
