Humminbird Helix transducers - 08/28/17 10:24 PM

When you get the helix series, are there two versions of trandsucers with one being a HD model? Seems like I heard someone talking about this and wanted to make sure I got the best one if and when I purchase.

thanks

There is no "one size fits all" answer to your question.
A unit comes with a standard transducer for the model it is. There may be one that will allow the unit to perform better and some that are for a particular installation application depending on the model.

Humminbird has a transducer exchange program handled through Customer Service for an unused transducer and unopened mount package.

Wayne is correct and some units have an optional transducer listed for use with a particular model. I recommend talking to other users about the features that are most important to you and your intended use to determine which of the series might be suit your needs.

BTW, there are 5 Helix models (5,7,9,10,and 12). Each has three versions ( sonar, Down Imaging, and Side Imaging). The smaller units are available with or without GPS in the sonar and DI models.

There are also different production year models.
1. First generation
2. G2
3. G2N

The Helix series are the current versions of what used to be the models with number names.
300, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, and 1100.

All G2N models can be networked (Helix 7, Helix 9, Helix 10, and Helix 12).
So can all the first generation Helix 9, Helix 10, and Helix 12 models.
