998 and 999 Birds

Has anyone hooked up 999and 998 and what do I need to run off the same transducer

Have done it lots of times with other models and those two are no different.

The 999 needs the AS EC QDE Ethernet adapter to connect an Ethernet cable to it.
Then you need an Ethernet cable long enough to go between units.
The AS EC 20E is the 20' version, there are several lengths available.
The 998 already has the threaded Ethernet port for the cable connection.

The unit that does not have a transducer connected to it has to have Sonar turned OFF. Then in the Ethernet menu of that unit, you select the other unit that does have a transducer connected to it as the source for sonar data, Advanced data (Imaging), GPS data, and temp. Don't have to share GPS if you don't want to if the 998 has a GPS antenna connected.
