Another battery Question...

I am about to replace my charger and batteries and had a question about how you guys charge them. My charger lasted for well over 10 years and the batteries I am replacing are over 7 years old, but I assume that's because I am lucky to go fishing about once a month, maybe twice. My question is, do you immediately put them back on the charger when you return home? If so do you remove from charger after charged or leave on the charger all the time? I have a habit of just parking the boat when I get home and waiting to charge the night before I go again. Is that bad or good for the batteries? Thanks

Put a Battery Tender on them when not in use. The batteries will thank you.

I charge them as soon as I get home and with the chargers I use they shut off once the batteries are fully charged and goes into float function after that but I usually take them off the next morning. I wouldn't recommend leaving them on a charger for extended periods of time it may affect the batteries.

Battery Tenders are made to keep your battery in top form in storage. I use them on all parked stuff. Years and years now. Don't be afraid of them. Cheap too.

Yes, charge them as soon as possible to help them last longer. If you get an onboard charger, it's just walk to the back and plug it in. So easy you won't need to put it off

It's bad for batteries to sit in a discharged state. All battery maintenance instructions say this. No matter the brand or type.I plug mine in as soon as I get home.

As far as batteries, look into Deka Batteries, they aren't cheap but they do last. I am like you I am the worlds worst
when it comes to treating batteries the correct way. My Champ is 11 years old, it came with Deka's and I have replaced them
once, got almost 6 years out of the first set and I'm still running the second set
I run 24m7 on big motor/electronics and DP 27 on TM
