Copying waypoints from Lowrance to Humminbird?

Is it possible to transfer my waypoints from my Lowrance 520c to a Humminbird Helix 12?

Step 1.

Save your waypoints from your Lowrance unit onto the SD card. This file, when loaded is named data.usr. In case you don’t know how to do this, consult the manual.

Step 2.

Log on to humminbird.com and register the Humminbird unit that you have on the product registration tab. If you don’t already have a humminbird.com account, create one now. This is a task required for the download of the HumminbirdPC software.

Once you register your unit, it will appear into your account, and you will see the latest available downloads for it.

Click on the HumminbirdPC link and download the software into your computer then install it.

Step 3.

Attach the SD card reader to your computer, on the USB port.

Step 4.

Attach the SD card to the reader’s rear.

Step 5.

Run HumminbirdPC on your computer. As it opens up, you should be able to see the SD card icon in the opened window. In case it fails to show, double check the connections of the SD card and reader.

Step 6.

Double click on the SD card icon, then click on the File tab of the HumminbirdPC, select Open (Ctrl + O), double click the data.usr file. You will be asked if you want to convert it to .gpx. Click “yes”. Once the file is converted, it should appear under the HumminbirdPC tab, as data.usr.gpx. You can view waypoints, tracks or routes now, on your computer, if you want to.

Step 7.

Click on the SD card icon once more, in the HumminbidPC window, upload the new, converted file data.usr.gpx onto it.

Step 8.

Plug the SD card into your Humminbird unit, power the unit, and the new waypoints should automatically load up.

Step 9.

View the new waypoints, routes and tracks.

After you put them on your hummingbird pc, you can click on the Google Earth icon and you can see all your waypoints on Google Earth.
