I've always been a lowrance guy, my new boat came with a hummingbird 688ci HD. the screen is a little too small for me, what unit can i upgrade to and keep the same transducer and other stuff? looking for at least a 7" screen or so.

The great thing about the Helix units is they all use the existing transducer and power plugs.

I just upgraded from a 798 and 597 to Helix 7. Love them but I do miss the 3 preset buttons but not a big deal.

The 688 that you have is sonar and down image. If your going to buy new, you will want side image. Now you will need to install transducer that comes with new unit. Humminbird has great customer support if you call them they will give you specifics

There are two 688 models.

688ci HD Combo
688ci HD DI Combo
