Humminbird 999 question

Humminbird 999 question - 03/15/16 08:33 PM

How do I set the unit up to save/show all my tracks automatically? Also on some lakes it just erases my track with no warning if I don't hit save current track and on other lakes like Fork it doesn't completely erase them just makes them little hard to see dots. I want a black line everywhere I have ever ran any help getting the info to do that would be appreciated. Thanks. Steve

Go into the waypoint/track section and you change it there. You can scroll thru and find a track then edit it to make it visible, change the type and color from dots to whatever you like

The unit creates the Current Track as you navigate.

You have to manually Save Current Track if you want it in the waypoint library.

You can change the setting for SAVED TRACKS from the default Saved Tracks setting.
When you do that, every time you Save Current Track, it will be what you have set it to.

Thanks guys! I knew about the save current tracks but I wasn't sure if I had to manually do it each time or if I was missing the setting for it to save automatically. I really appreciate the help!

Do either of you know why on Bob Sandlin and Holbrook it completely deletes my track but on Fork and Tawakoni it changes them from a line to the dots?

Where you are has nothing to do with the GPS function, it works the same everywhere.
Mapping is not GPS and GPS is not mapping.
You do not need any background mapping for the GPS to do its thing.

How the lines are saved is entirely up to your settings. If you do a Default setting, every Saved Track gets set to the faint dotted line which is the Default setting for a Saved Track. Then you have to go back and change each waypoint library track setting again.

Thanks Wayne! I was able to figure it out last night. Looks like I unknowingly saved a track on Fork and Tawakoni or my partner did. So that's the reason I had old tracks on only those lakes.
