Range Ring, Lowrance

Range Ring, Lowrance - 03/01/16 02:12 PM

Need to discuss how to use the Range Ring. I believe each ring is 200ft apart. When pulling up to a way point can you tell how close you are to it?

Best way is to mark a waypoint. Turn on the range rings. get within casting distance of your waypoint and see how it matches up with the range rings. I can usually cast the distance to the second ring on my unit. Also turn on the heading indicator. You can accurately cast to a waypoint every time with those two things on. thumb

When range rings is "ON" and going to a waypoint, look in the lower right hand corner of your unit. There will be a number showing the distance between each ring. If you zoom in or zoom out the number(or distance between rings) will change.

3 year old post, I’ve been using the range rings for awhile now. They are quite handy, def a nice feature.

One way to tell how far away from a waypoint is to use (on Lowrance) the "DTD" or Distance to Destination" data overlay.
