bent trolling motor

anybody have any tricks or tips for straiting a bent trolling motor shaft.

You will get many answers, but the truth is you cannot straighten it, you can get it straighter -- unless you take it to a machine shop. By the time you do that, it's less expensive to change the shaft.

I have an older motel motorguide 43lb thrust do you think i can find one for it?

I bent mine pretty good at fork, took it off the gator mount and put a couple 2 x 4 pieces in the vise jaws and lightly secured the shaft at the bed point and coaxed it back to straight as in not perfect but useable and stowable. it was actually pretty straight. its only a tube with wires and I figured it was gonna get "forked" again...........it lasted till the motor went bad........see what u can do with it....good luck metal shaft I am talking about.

If you don't get it working call one of the repair shops and they can probably order you a shaft or may have an old TM for parts.

It uses the same shafts as the current Motorguides. We have them in stock.
