Well it happened. Was at the lake alone and used the spot lock while I retrieved the trailer. Once back, the remote would not steer it back. It actually became unlocked and floated away. It had been a little unresponsive earlier in the day.
Figured out was a bad battery so today I put a new one in. I found that sometimes pushing the buttons to steer, it would not turn then occasionally a few seconds later it would make a big steering change. Stepped into a friend's boat and spot locked it a few feet away. When I tried to retrieve it, the remote would not work. Once it unlocked spot lock and was able to relock it but no other functions would work. I was less than 20 Ft away with no obstructions.
Anyone had this issue before? I assume that it will be the remote but it could possibly be the unit having issues receiving the signal. I should still have a couple months left on the warranty and will contact them next week but afraid because it is intermittent, they might have problems diagnosing.
