Minnkota Talon Not working

Minnkota Talon Not working - 07/02/15 01:33 AM

I have power to it, but it won't go up or down. It kinda makes a slight noise almost like a car battery going dead. Couple of clicking noise.
Any suggestions?

It probably has some mud stuck up in it. There is a water hose hook up at the top of it to flush it. If it is a real old one not, but you can put a pressure washer wand up the bottom and clean it.

I have two talons. One of them has had warranty work done twice. The other one warranty once and the other two times out of my pocket. I had the same issue it could be a broken cable twice happen to me or the main circuit board happen once. Any more issues I'm going to remove them and get a power pole.

Mine did the same thing. Like mentioned before either wash them out or check the power cable. I checked my cables and 1 wire was barely attached and would short out when I bumped it. Installed new cables , problem solved.

For some reason, sounds like it's not getting power to the control board. Check battery and all connections, including breakers and fuse holders.

yep. had the same problem with one on friday. the fuse (breaker type fuse) holder had water in it. it was only allowing 2 volts to get to the control board. replaced the fuse after drying it out and it worked like a champ.

The battery it is connected to is brand new, I have checked the inline fuse with the 30 amp fuse it is good. I can not figure it out. Guess I am going to have to take somewhere. It is only three months old.

So far I am not happy with it.

Anyone know a authorized dealer that does warranty around lake Fork?
