Trailering with Talons - 07/01/15 10:16 AM
Just installed these with tilt brackets and they rattle and shake like crazy when running down the road. Anyone trailer with these tilted over and tied down? I am getting ready to take a trip to Table Rock and the way they shake makes me think they will be damaged buy the time I get there.
I have searched the forums and not finding anyone posting on this subject. Tires are balanced and boat rides pretty smooth otherwise.
Wide open to suggestions.
Thanks TFF'ers

I have a single 12 footer on an FX21 and do not have this issue. Something loose?
I pull my two Talon 10 standing up-right. No issues.

there is a sticker on the tilt bracket explaining that you should not trailor with them down. did you buy them new or used? post a pic of them from the side. if they have a round latching pin, they are the old style. if they have a triangle shaped pin, they are the new style, and shouldnt rattle.

I don't know anything about them but they aren't necessary in most of Table Rock so if they come off easy, you might leave them at home.

I had the same problem with mine, tilt brackets will cause them to shake more. Simply lower your Talons half way down by loosing bolts on the side of your Talons and then retighten them. After you arrive put them back where they need to go. I got tired of all the shaking going on and off the lake and bought Blades, problem solved.

Thanks for the input guys.
They are used, and the old style round pin.
I think I am going to pull the tilt brackets off and try it that way. Garage clearance is not an issue.

With the lakes high, I wouldn't do that. I needed to lower mine to get under bridges on Bonham last weekend. Maybe put the new tilt brackets on and sell the old ones.
