999ci black lines in side imaging - 06/30/15 04:30 PM

Just installed my 999 and took it out on the lake last week end and there are black lines in both sides of my side imaging. Also the images aren't as clear as I expected. I will add a image but it was captured while reviewing on humviewer not sure if that makes a difference but it looks pretty much the same

transducer location on boat. Anyone have any suggestions as to why I'm having this problem

When you go too fast for the transducer location, it looses water contact and records the dark lines. SLOW DOWN for scanning.

You will not get on-plane depth readings with the transducer in that position. The correct installation for your boat is a shoot-thru Dual Beam transducer--XP 9 20. That and the SI transducer connected to the display with the AS SIDB Y cable.

You also get distinct lines parallel with the SI center line from echos from the inside the jackplate. You will see those lines on SI and DI.

Thanks for the reply. I will slow it down and see how it looks.
