When did it start doing this? How long since you last operated without the problem?

Also, when was last service, and new fuel?

I know, lots of questions - but need rest of story to help. hmmm

ran it last in may with no problems. never had an issue until now. I have had the boat for 5 years and only had minor maintenance done and a water pump. the motor alarm had been beeping every so often but nobody could find out why it was beeping. fuel is maybe a month old.

Take it to Service Marine in Emory. Perry Lewis is a Mercury Master Tech. He will fix it.

Mine did that a while back. Turned out to be a fouled plug, very minor.

Take the fuel line loose and look for debris in the line. The inner lining of the fuel line can be deteriorated by today's ethanol fuels. Will look like fire ants built a colony in the fuel line.
