Removing a puck epoxied in the hull

I think I screwed up when I mounted the puck in the hull. Pretty certain that thinking about my boat has balsa core or floatation in the keel. Working in 40 degree weather and nasty wind will cause you to not think logically. I am going to test before removing. I have heard that a block of wood and a good rap with a hammer should do the job. Fortunately I have plenty of room to work on it.

Yep, block of wood and a good whack will do the trick

You will need to grind the old epoxy off before you install a new xducer.

Not installing a new one in the same spot. Transducer is fine location is not. Just made a bad decision while working in the cold on Saturday. That and the fact that it took me a while to figure out that the wire conduit in the back of the boat was not continuous up to the console. By the time I got the wire run I just wanted out of the cold.

Transducers in the hull never provide good readings.

I agree with the block of wood and a hammer. It sounds violent and I was cautious but it worked. The epoxy separates at the fiberglass floor. The only issue I had was space to work in that area.
