8th ANNUAL CARA YOUNG FISH FOR LIFE TOURNAMENT

The 8th Annual Cara Young Fish For Life Tournament has been scheduled for Sunday, September 17, 2017. The anglers will be fishing Lake Grapevine, with the weigh-in being held at Cabela's Fort Worth store location.
Scott Gordon will be the tournament director again this year. Entry fee will be $150.00 per team, big bass included.

The free kids fishing event will also be held at Cabela's the same day from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for kids 14 and under. Hourly weigh-in and prizes for the big fish each hour. A new kayak donated by Cabela's will be awarded to the kiddo who catches the biggest fish of the day!! Winner must be present at 2:00 p.m.

This will be a fun day for all so be sure to mark your calendar and come on out, do some shopping and help raise money for Cook Children's Medical Center.

Our banquet and silent auction this year is scheduled for Saturday, October 7th at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. More information for this will be posted later in a separate post.

Going to be a good day for the tournament and the kids fishing. Cabela's will be flippin' pancakes around 8:00 a.m. for whatever donation you can give. We will also have bottled water and juice drinks.
This event in conjunction with our banquet on October 7th, our hopes are to beat last year's donation of $31,500.00. So join us at Cabela's, the banquet at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens, or BOTH!

Just to keep the calls to Scott a minimum registrations starts sunday morning at Katie's Woods at 5am. Once paid and livewell checks you can proceed to your first spot and first cast is at 7am! Last cast will be at 2pm and have to be in line at cabelas in FTW by 3:30pm

How will they fish? Is it a pond?

The bass tournament is being held on Lake Grapevine, weigh-in at Cabela's. The kids event is at Cabela's at their Lone Star lake in front of the store.

Well, year #8 is in the books! Had a great day at Cabela's yesterday.

Results? Id like to know how the kids did and money raised, and who won the kayak, story, etc?? Grapevine lake results? Is this info already somewhere on the internet?

Had a great turnout. Probably 30-35 kids fished that day. Wyatt, a great young angler from Decatur and last year's kids winner, won again this year with a 5.7 lb. bass. I'll have to get with our tournament director and see if he can send me the results from Grapevine. It was a tough day for sure, and we had 28 teams fishing.
The money raised will be added to the money from our upcoming banquet and silent auction. Will post final donation total when we give the check to Cook Children's.
