Wed. Night Grapevine

Hey guys I been asked by many a lot of questions on Grapevine so here we go.
We go out of Dove Loop
50.00 per team or solo with optional side pot
Shotgun start at 5 :45
Start fishing when you reach your spot
Last cast is 9:30
Grapevine is a slot lake
Large mouth under 14in and over 18
Spots have no length limit
Small mouth are 14in or more
We WILL check livewells
Scales close at 10:00
You CAN NOT prefish the day of the tournament
I recommend life jackets but it's NOT a rule on this tournament.
We will hold these every Wed night unless posted we're not
You CAN NOT be on pad in no wake zones idle only ( this happened tonight)
All fish have to be cought using artificial bait not live bait( I was asked this)
Most of you know these things but now there posted for the many that asked.

Any chance of changing back 9:30 weigh-in? Getting home at 11 on work night is tough.

You would have thought Parker and Paxton was going to wax them when they got to the ramp. Didn't see them at weigh in though.

I have had many boats say they want to fish even longer. We always fished til 9 30 and I understand work I live almost in Decatur so I get home late as well.

It was awesome tonight 8 boats maned up and fished. The bite was pretty good.

Guys the wind is suppose to exceed 30miles per hour which means 40 gust. I fished that [censored] this Sunday and I'm out. I don't mind wind like last week. Bit 30 plus is WAY to much and no fun. We will hit them back up next wed unless you guys want to do it Sunday Evening if so I will post for Sunday evening fro 6pm to
9 30 just let me know and I will post one for then.

IF anyone catches a cara spinning rod with a stradic on it in-between the outlet and the dam ill give $50 if they catch it for me...blew out of my boat with a gust of wind around 7 last night....

How many boats on average?

We have had 12 to 20 boats every wed. Night and yes they will continue until people quit showing up. See you all wed. Night at the ramp

Do you just show up to the tournament or do you have register ahead of time or what?

I'm there most of the time by 4 30 to register. We leave the ramp 5 45. Last cast 9 30 scales close 10 05 show up pay and go fish

Took almost 20lbs to win last week. Look forward to seeing everyone back this Wed. Night

How is the payout structured?

1 in 5 boats so for instance if we have 12 boats it pay 1st and 2nd and third gets there money back. One big bass one side pot. If we had 15 boats it would pay 1st through third and 4th gets there money back.

Does %100 get paid out?

Yes.

Yes we always pay out 100% of the money unless we do a series then I will hold 10% for the final tournament. However this is not a series. So all money taken in gets paid out. See you all tomorrow.

Well the lake was on fire tonight
1st Haggard and Hahgard for 25 plus
2nd was Bryant and Coy with 24
3rd was Kevin Lane with 17 plus
4th was Matthews and Norris with 16.14
5th was just under 16

25 lbs in 3hrs......dam. I'm surprised no one cried they were cheating and made them put an observer in the boat.

That's a hell of a bag. What was their big fish?

We had big bass at just under 9 pounds. Not sure what the winning bags big fish was.

Wow that's awesome. Do y'all consistently catch bass over 5 lbs or am I just doing something wrong. I do, but not every time I go out.

Fairly consistently. I've been fishing the lake for 15 years though. If you don't know the structure under the water, it can be a tough lake to crack.

I have fished there one time for about 3 hours and caught a nice 20 incher and a few others and a really nice 13 inch crappie. I was just fishing around the docks though because it was super windy. Feel free to PM me any tips!

This lake puts out big fish most days. However the grapevine guys that really know this lake thrives when it starts to heat up meaning weather. When the weather is consistent then the pattern those that know this lake fires up and it's a slug fest. It's crazy we all know the spots and watch them just waiting. Well that time has come and even with the weather I feel like it will be a shoot out on this lake Sunday. Good luck to all the Anglers. See you all out there.

For a normal 8hr tournament, I'd say winnng bag could possibly exceed 50lbs......

Hello all, just moved to the area and looking to get back into tournament fishing. Any boaters out there looking for a non-boater?

The bass were biting tonight. It took 27 to win and almost 20 to get a check. Kevin Lane had a stud. 10lber for big bass. There was also an 8.2 weighed in by Norris and Matthews. (Norris cought it) lake is producing HIGE fish this year. If you have not come out do. You will have a blast.

Hell of a bag. Great job guys. I am going to Gvine today after work and want to catch a bigun! PM me if you can share any tips at all
