ABA dist. 54 Lake Lewisville Dec. 17

ABA District 54 is having their 4th stop of the 2017 season on Lake Lewisville Saturday Dec 17th out of Tower bay. It been a long time since local ABA Districts conducted a winter tournament because of low turnout and many are not fond of the cold weather. Lewisville was selected because it is located in a area that is not a far drive and can produce well in cooler weather. Great opportunity to ease that cabin fever before the really cold weather kicks in. Besides at least someone o two will win some good shopping cash to make the spouse happy. Keep in mind the skiers and jets ski have packed it away for year, so the entire lake is yours. ABA District 54..great division and alot of fun also, Come out and join us.

plus the fish are eating really hope we can draw a full field Ill have some cool new baits to donate after the weight in. I might try and bring a little inventory if anyone wants to buy stuff before the tournament.

If you are planning to attend this event, please note that the I-35 corridor is constantly changing and you may want to check out the entrance to Tower bay before the morning of the tournament for those who have not been there lately. Thank you and have a good holiday

If you have not been to Tower bay lately, you need to know that if you are coming from the north I-35 that you will have to exit Garden Ridge and cross over on the bridge, the exit is at the end of the new Lewisville I-35 bridge so if you are past the bridge you will need to exit 407 and turn around. Now when you leave you will have to go back across the same bridge and take the service road south to 407 and turn around to get back to the north bound side of I-35. good luck

Fish the windy banks. By that I mean beach your boat on shore and just walk the bank with net ready. The big waves Saturday will literally throw the bass up on shore.

A little wind never hurt anybody. that's why they have coves and big motors. Winds due in the later part of the evening.

For anyone who is joining at the ramp for the first time that is a boater please bring a copy of your boat liability insurance policy, it must be dated properly and have the minimum of 100,000 liability with your name on it. Also this is an individual tourney with non boaters, you may draw a non boater please be prepared. Good luck

Good luck to everyone. Shoulder surgery last week has put me on injured reserve. Hopefully I will be back in the game by late March

What was the winning weight?

We had 12 entries for Lake Lewisville 11 boaters and 1 non boater. first place went to Kieth Cullum with 4 fish for 14.78 lbs, second place went to Robert Youngblood with 3 fish for 9.41 lbs and big bass of 5.26 lbs, and third place went to Scott Dean with 2 fish for 7.46 lbs. Weights were a little off this weekend Lewisville has been on and off for the past 3 weeks. Winds were not too bad until 12:10 when the norther blew in then it pretty much shut the lake down. Thank you Brads baits for donating lures to give away and second place was won on one of his baits, the same one he was catching fish on the Tuesday before the tourney. Also Brad came in 4th place 2 fish for 3.88 lbs, good luck and we will see everyone at Grapevine in February. Have a good Christmas everyone and a happy new year. Now its time to concentrate on Squaw Creek lol

Glad my baits could contribute to someone landing good fish, and hope the ones donated will donthe same. I strugled all day to find keepers the 2 keepers I caught slammed a jerkbait hard enough to make you think you figured something out. That was sure not the case though. congrats tonthe anglers that caught fish though it was a tough day out there. I look forward to getting things rolling again in Feb.
