Kings of Cowtown Qualifying tournaments

Kings of Cowtown Qualifying tournaments - 01/28/16 08:04 PM

This year we are going to allow teams that have never fished the Kings Of Cowtown event a fair shot at getting in. In the past, I always gave the prior years teams 1 week to get their entry fees to me before I opened registration to the public. We always have at least 95% of the teams return and have no room to allow additional teams. This year, the teams that finished in the top 25 from last year will automatically requalify for this years event. That leaves 30 spots available to meet our maximum field in Kings Of Cowtown held in August. I will have 3 qualifying events (lakes are listed below)and I will take the top 10 finishers of each and invite them to fish in the Kings Of Cowtown. By doing this, you have 3 chances to qualify. These tournaments are open to anyone that wants to qualify or just wants to fish an open tournament. If you have already qualified, you can still enter these. The entry fee will be $100 and the payback will be 70% (cash only). The remaining 30% will be added to the purse at the Kings Of Cowtown. All of these events will be held on Sunday from safe light till 2:30. If you have any questions feel free to call me.

March 13 - Grapevine Lake ( Lake Worth will be the alternate, If Grapevine is not accessible, I will announce the change on March 1st)
April 17 - Lake Lewisville
May 29 - Eagle Mountain Lake

It's Kings of Cowtown, those are the lakes normally fished. The only reason it was in your backyard last year is because of Lake closures. You might want to use them as practice cause them North Tx boys know how to catch em on those lakes.

If you fish solo and qualify then yes you can choose your partner for Kings Of Cowtown. However, if you fish the qualifying tournaments with a team mate and do qualify, you can only fish Kings of Cowtown with that partner. There will only be one qualifier per team.

Re: Kings of Cowtown Qualifying tournaments - 02/02/16 12:49 PM

Lets straighten out the rules here? can you fish any of these if your name is already on the list as to have qualified for the kings of cowtown? and if you qualified for one of these can you fish any of the others too? don't seem right if you can and your trying to get the top 10 from each event. or can you qualify twice lol? thank you hope the answer will clear this up for others

Re: Kings of Cowtown Qualifying tournaments - 02/02/16 12:59 PM

I agree that if your looking for 30 teams to fill up the field that double qualifiers are going to mess things up. Or are you going to take the top 10 teams that are not currently qualified?

Re: Kings of Cowtown Qualifying tournaments - 02/02/16 02:10 PM

These are open tournaments for anyone that wants to fish. The goal is to get 30 teams qualified and to raise money for the Kings of Cowtown purse. I will take the top 10 teams at each qualifying event that have not yet qualified. If you fish the 1st event and qualify, you can still fish the other 2 as just an open tournament. There will be no double qualifiers.
